“To say I enjoyed the show is simply an understatement. In every essence of the word, my experience was transformational, it was spiritual, and it was simply liberating.”

“…under the guiding hand of The Carnegie, Larson’s seminal masterpiece RENT, too, feels as relevant as it has been ever – timeless, revolutionary, and galvanizing. Simply put – this is the best production of RENT I have seen in years.
Thankfully and joyously, this RENT has the energy, angst, edge and heartbeat of the original Broadway production.
Assisting Byrd in the breezy pace [is] scenic designer Tyler Gabbard… I knew that I, the audience, and the show were in expert hands. The Carnegie’s Rent is THE summer show to see – raw, relentless, mesmerizing, cathartic and glorious; just as it had felt in 1996.”

“A bold production of a modern classic.
Honestly, this is likely the best version of this show to be produced in the area for some time.
Tyler Gabbard's set and prop design are of the highest quality; the use of tables and, of course, the need to be able to use this set for three different shows running simultaneously presented a challenge - and he more than rose to the occasion.”
The Sappy Critic
“The Carnegie’s production is excellent.
Where recent productions have failed for me is in establishing the tone of the time period. Not so with this production. Great care was taken to visually reflect the time with well thought out costume and prop choices, but also in portraying the uncertainty and fear of an epidemic which, 25+ years ago, was a painful death sentence.
Overall, an intimate and rocking production that will satisfy new and existing fans (and possible convert a few).”

“These Carnegie summer productions are inventive… conveying the energy and creativity of let’s-put-on-a-show summer theater.”
